Still…
Award Exhibit, Juror Jan French
The theme, 'Still…', is deliberately flexible to allow for creative interpretation. A painting might be called 'Still Married', another might be 'Still Life', and yet another 'The Whiskey Still'. The artists are required to put the word 'Still' in the title, allowing the viewers to understand how it fits into the theme.
Installed works will be judged by renowned Central Coast artist, Jan French. Cash prizes will be awarded at the artist reception on Saturday, May 2, from 4:30 to 6pm.
WORKING WITH WOOD
Featuring Four Local Artists
For generations, artists and craftspeople have transformed wood into objects of beauty, utility, function and fascination. Wood has long been a defining function of Cambria from its earliest days as “Slabtown” and a lumbering center for its Monterey pines to its current installation of driftwood huts along Moonstone Beach.
The Cambria Center for the Arts invited four local creators to showcase their work in this unique show. Each explores woods from a totally different perspective, from furniture to kitchen utility to pure creative expression. Featuring Steven Beck, Brooks Lawrence, Jim Rogers and Bill White
RECEPTION
Please attend an opening reception for the show on Saturday, June 6 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Enjoy complimentary snacks; wine available for purchase.
