ARTIST INFORMATION
The Cambria Center for the Arts Gallery is committed to providing an open and welcoming environment for all artists. We have 6 exhibits a year in our Gallery. These include featured artists, juried events, and non-juried exhibits with a theme.
For Featured Artist exhibits, we invite artists from all over California to apply. With these shows we always include areas for local artists to display their work, as well.
While we do have themes attached to our exhibits - it is not always mandatory that our artists follow them. Some artists enjoy the challenge - others simply want to create whatever inspires them.
Because of limited space and a high volume of entries, we are currently limiting wall-hung pieces to 40” in either width or height.
Sculptors, ceramicists and other 3-D artists also have spots in our Gallery. We offer pedestals for small and medium-sized pieces.
We also have glassed-cabinet space for custom crafted jewelry, tiles and other items for shelf display. Although this space is limited.
New for 2026, the Gallery will be accepting signed, original Portfolio Art.
Find out more about these opportunities by hitting the Call For Artists link below.
You don't have to become a member to show your art with us, but there are benefits to being a member that pay for themselves including:
• Discounts on exhibit hanging/pedestal fees

Participate in the Member Artist Showcase
YOU DON'T WANT TO PASS UP THIS OPPORTUNITY!
One of the benefits of being a member with CCA is for artists who would like to have an online portfolio of their work. The Member Artist Showcase is a great venue for artists. Artists can upload an image of self, include a bio of up to 300 words, include 12 works of art, and even include a video. Click the link below to open the Artist Portfolio interface. Type in your email address to verify you are a current member and add your content. You can come back to this same interface at any time to change the content.
This same content will be used to create the Artist Book found in the Gallery for visitors to view.
Creating an artists’ community for artists
Since 1952, the non-profit Cambria Center for the Arts (CCA)- the Allied Arts Association – has supported the community, sharing the artistic vision of locals with residents and visitors alike.
Our mission is to raise awareness and appreciation of art through education and community outreach, as well as the display and promotion of member art.
CCA is hosting a variety of workshops for the community from painting to critique. The organization has grown over the years to include many talented and generous artists. You don’t need to be a well-known professional to join. Amateur artists and art enthusiasts are also welcome.
One of the original members of the association, Art Van Rhyn, and his contemporaries formed the Wednesday Irregulars, a 30-plus year, ongoing, painting group. This hearty group of Plein Air painters gather weekly to paint in the scenic outdoors of Cambria and surrounding communities in all kinds of weather, to capture visually the changing landscapes of the Central Coast. Newcomers are always welcome.
Our center houses the Art Van Rhyn Art Library and reading space. Come in to borrow a book or just for a relaxing afternoon perusing fabulous art books.
Please join us. Bring your enthusiasm; there are many ways to become involved. Anyone can volunteer; we can all learn from each other and share what we’ve learned. Artists helping artists!
